My goal is to personally visit and collate information from 100 New Zealand World War One memorials throughout New Zealand to commemorate the Centenary of World War One and to remember those who paid the ultimate price.

Windwhistle - Glenroy Memorial - 7 July 2011
A memorial in a spectacular spot - on a clear day the memorial is framed by Mt Hutt in the background. Unfortunately for me the weather was not welcoming. There are only 5 names on the memorial which clearly reminds us how important is was to New Zealand in the post war years to remember those who lost their lives in World War One. Memorials like Windwhistle - Glenroy seemingly in the middle of nowhere help us all to remember the human sacrifice made.
