My goal is to personally visit and collate information from 100 New Zealand World War One memorials throughout New Zealand to commemorate the Centenary of World War One and to remember those who paid the ultimate price.

Bannockburn Memorial - 12 July 2011
Bannockburn memorial just down the road from the Cromwell memorial is one of the more unusual I have seen as the top of the column looks to be unfinished. It has however always been this way as far as I can gather. The memorial was unveiled in 1923.
A local who lives near the memorial told me how the local children who wait for their school bus at the site pick up the poppies which have blown of the wreath and put them back every day. It seems the spirit of ANZAC is still alive today in many different ways.
