William John Birdsall known as 'Jack" was the son of John Bowden Birdsall and Isobel Birdsall, like many young men he was keen to enlist and embarked with the Main Body on 16 October 1914. He died on 22 June 1915 from wounds received at Gallipoli aged 20.
