From this group a very young Frank George Waghorn enlisted to go to war (from Blackball). He never returned after dying on a hospital ship from wound sustained in battle.Dr Phihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00558438266156474318noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6431486429965340097.post-37857980270966153272015-04-25T12:32:07.837+12:002015-04-25T12:32:07.837+12:00I am a descendant of Percy's, and from his dia...I am a descendant of Percy's, and from his diary he learnt "Syd had copped it" while Percy was in Eygpt. He was shot while his brother was stabbed with a bayonet.

Thanks for putting up this extra piece of info.M.noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6431486429965340097.post-1124737009304985702011-03-20T01:20:09.072+13:002011-03-20T01:20:09.072+13:00It is a fantastic project that you have undertaken...It is a fantastic project that you have undertaken Helen. My grandfather and five of his brothers joined up - four in Bristol, UK, two in Sydney, Aus. Of the six, only three came back. Sadly, the remaining family lost touch after WW1 and I am only now discovering my family history and tracking down "lost" cousins to share it with.

I wish you luck with your project and will be following it with interest.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11474399956507647950noreply@blogger.com
